I love listening to music, that’s why I created WiiRadio. But what’s even better is playing games while listening to music!
I’ve decided to try and complete a few game plugins for WiiRadio v0.5. I’ve already thrown together a simple space shooter game and added to the SVN.
Currently I’m looking for game ideas. If you have an idea for a simple game that could be added as a plugin to WiiRadio then please post it here!
Do you have Live TV ideas for Homebrew Channel?
Maybe in the future, right now I’m concentrating on audio functionality.
How about Pac-man? Or Super Mario Bros?

Not a gmae idea – but a functionality idea
can we have a search function with virtual keyboard as there is one stream i listen to a lot on winamp but cannot find using your app – i also cannot save the PLS from winamp and load it in your app it fails.
please fix this for me !

Yes this feature is already in the dev tree and will be in the next release.
Also it’s strange that a winamp pls will not work, that’s what I used to test it. Post it here if you can, I’ll take a look.

Yes I think it’s a problem with the parentheses around the end of the title information. I guess I was being to tricky in extracting the song title. I’ve noticed this before and it’s something I’ll change. For now you can just remove them from the .pls file and it should work.

also not a game, but funtionality issue – Is there anyway that a selector or filter of some sort, to select from all available genres, could be added? there are several genres omitted in WiiRadio.
Also, a font size selector. The large font currently used makes all the realty of my 56″ useless, and the scrolling of channel titles would definitively be quicker if the font were smaller. (the second being a very very minor gripe)
and thanks for the app. i love it! the wii needed a solid shoutcast player.

I did experiment with downloading art a while back. Most online resources for this feature use the album art and not the song art, I found was the matching was pretty poor and hardly ever returned the correct art for the song so I dumped this idea.
While it might be nice to have one or the other smallish game in wiiradio, the better idea IMHO would be to keep wiiradio slim and instead (also) provide a wiiradio library which can be used by games for background music. Those games could then reuse the user options like the playlists and languages.
Yes I’ve thought about this. Would be an interesting little project but I’m not sure how many devs would use it.
